Dr. Lane is a board certified dermatologist and pediatrician whose medical career spans four decades with more than 25 years at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In 1990, Dr. Lane joined the faculty at Stanford and in 1996, he was promoted to Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics and appointed Chair of the Department of Dermatology through 2010. Since then Dr. Lane has focused on clinical research to develop gene therapies for Epidermolysis Bullosa and other genetic skin diseases. In addition, he is a Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics (Emeritus) and is affiliated with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Dr. Lane earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University and holds a Masters of Arts in Religious Studies from Santa Clara University.
